See Your Brain in Action -

At Balanced Brain Hawaii, we believe the best care begins with understanding—not guessing. We use Functional Quantitative EEG (qEEG) with Event-Related Potentials (ERP), a cutting-edge brain-mapping technology that gives us a real-time look at how your brain is working.

Your brain map isn’t just data—it’s a story about how your mind and body are working together, and how we can help you feel and function at your best.

Adding ERP for Deeper Insight

Event-Related Potentials (ERP) measure how quickly and efficiently your brain responds to specific stimuli, down to the millisecond. This tells us not just what your brain is doing, but how well it processes information. For example, ERP can reveal if your brain is overworking to complete simple tasks, or if certain circuits are “lagging” behind.

What Is a Functional qEEG?

A functional qEEG records your brain’s electrical activity through a comfortable, non-invasive cap with small sensors. Unlike a standard EEG, the “quantitative” part means we analyze your brain waves with advanced software, comparing your patterns to a database of healthy, age-matched individuals. This reveals areas of over- or under-activity that may be linked to symptoms such as brain fog, anxiety, mood changes, attention issues, or post-concussion effects.

What Makes It “Functional”?

While resting brain scans are valuable, life doesn’t happen in silence and stillness. A functional qEEG adds performance tasks—like memory recall, problem-solving, or attention challenges—so we can see how your brain responds in real-world conditions. This helps identify subtle processing issues that might not appear during rest.
